I am totally a "city girl" but that being said, I certainly appreciate it when urban planners are visionaries and create communities of space, nature and gathering for people. Circa Green is one of those unique areas. It is located at 129 S. 30th Street, Philadelphia and it is on my list as a "must see" for both visitors and locals. It is University City's elevated park.
For just the cost of parking right in the building, one can take the elevator up to the 12th floor and walk out on the extraordinary. Green hills with Adirondack chairs and French cafe tables just calling to people to sit, talk and enjoy the city views. There is a dog park, a restaurant with delicious pub food, yoga in the morning and free movies shown on a 60 foot screen on Wednesday evenings! The meticulously engineered roof features 31,221 square feet of total green area and 16,200 square feet of blue covered water system which have reduced the impact on the surrounding environment and community. It is all about uniquely socializing in the sky, feeling the cool breezes and taking in the exquisite city skyline! A must see for sure!
